A: The state of Maryland requires that everyone complete the Drivers Education program before obtaining their Maryland Drivers License. All students receive thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction and six (6) hours of behind the wheel training.
A: Drivers Education is a two week course that consist of both classroom and behind the wheel training. Students attend the class Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6pm and 9pm, and the behind the wheel training is based on each student's schedule. Driving hours are completed in the morning, afternoon, and we even make students do a "night drive". Every driving school conducts their behind the wheel differently, but our goal is to complete all behind the wheel training within the two week time frame.
A: Classes start Monday, and the Driving begins on Tuesday. On the first day of class is orientation and each students has a one-on-one interview with an instructor. At this time, we are able to get an idea of each student's schedule so that we can coordinate times with students. For all driving lessons, the student will get picked up and dropped off by an instructor.
A: Effective October 2008, the state of Maryland and the MVA made it a requirement that all students must have their Maryland Learner's Permit in order to complete the six (6) hours of behind the wheel training. At State Wide Driving School, we complete both the classroom and the behind the wheel training within two weeks, therefore, it is a requirement to have your Maryland Learner's Permit before officially enrolling at State Wide Driving School.
