Insurance Requirements
Types of Insurance Required:
1. Liability insurance
Pays the damages that are caused by you and suffered by the other party for personal injury, death, or property damage. You must carry a minimum of $20,000 for bodily injury per person, $40,000 bodily injury for two or people, and $15,000 for property damage.
2. Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Pays damages, after any applicable deductible, that are caused by an uninsured motorist and suffered by you. You must carry a minimum of $20,000 for bodily injury per person, $40,000 bodily injury for two or people, and $15,000 for property damage.
3. Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage
Provides the benefits for medical, hospital and disability up to $2,500 for all reasonable expenses arising out of an accident. Full PIP provides benefits for you, any member of your family, and any non-family occupant of your vehicle. Limited PIP excludes benefits for you and members of your family age 16 and over.
Proof of Insurance: Maryland Insurance Certification (FR-19)

Its must be sent directly from you Insurance CO to the MVA
Pay a fine of up to $1,000 and/or one year imprisonment for providing false
evidence of insurance
Owners of Uninsured Vehicle Could:
first 30 days, and $7 for each day thereafter
To Change Insurance Information on MVA Records:
